Air compressors

Has anyone switched from a direct drive to a belt driven compressor but switching it off from the compressor? I've been thinking about doing this but I don't know if my mounting plate is big enough as seen here

I have swapped compressors and motors with different mounting plates.

I just bolted a larger plate on the old one. Actually, i welded it on

Are you thinking aof buying a new motor and pump? That gets expensive, more than a new compressor.

well I already have the motor I would just need a pump, however it's not a two stage, but I'm sure it would run with less noise then my current.

What motor do you have? It cant be the one on there as the motor probably has no usable output shaft.

You don't need a 2 stage unless you plan on running over 125 PSI.

Finding a pump cheap will be the biggest issue. Then calculating the right belt and pulley sizes, new plumbing and mounting everything.
