XCOPY and folders with spaces

Hi:
I am using xcopy to copy some files from one machine to another. The source folder has a couple of spaces in it's name.

When running the xcopy command bat file, I am getting an error message of 'Invalid Number of Parameters'. I am thinking it is because of the spaces in the name for the source folder.

Anybody know how to circumvent this problem??

The folder name CAN NOT be changed.

Thanks,
fox7

Enclose the path name in quotes. This will work for both source and destination targets.

Your path = C:\data\yesterday was messed up\really

Use "C:\data\yesterday was messed up\really"

OR C:\data\"yesterday was messed up"\really

I would suggest you look into using Robocopy instead of Xcopy. Xcopy is getting old and will crash and miss data quite frequently.

Thanks!! I have just remembered it and was coming back to answer my own question, but you beat me to it. If you don't use it, you lose it!!

Hey, thanks for being so quick!!!

Hey SipSizzurp, thanks again for jumping in there. And I repeat... so quick. That can really be most helpful when working on a problem.

Again, thanks!!
