Your server could be trying to obtain a static IP from the network, make sure the IPV4 settings are set to DHCP. |

but IMO the best windows is windows ubuntu 64 bits or Windows FreeNas 8 64bits for a nas   |

he is running windows server 2008 R2 and he doesn't know why it will not connect. Tells me be doesn't know too much about running a windoze server. It could be setup as a DHCP server in a different subnet then the DHCP running on the router.
Why are you running windows server 2008 R2 to start with? |
