 | reply to peterboro I don't give a flying puck they are back, the NHL is dead, not sure when it did, its been on a slow death march with rule changes, and the endless monetization of every aspect of the game. Watch OHL or any of the other junior leagues to see a game that still matters and players that aren't prima donnas, no bullshit, no 3rd jersey and no round table discussions of dickheads voicing their irrelevant opinions about a sport they played 20 years ago just the game period. |
|
 | reply to peterboro On the plus, it gave local economies that host OHL and junior A games a bit of a boost with club owners reporting an increase in ticket sales. |

 | reply to peterboro Screw the greedy pricks. Won't be watching or following NHL for a long time. UFC tonight and 2 NFL playoff games Sunday for this guy. |

 | reply to peterboro Got a text from Boston Pizza saying if you show up tonight to watch the Leafs/Habs there's some sort of free shit. |

It's nice only having about 90 days of downtime in between seasons. You could argue it is even less with winter testing that is televised in January
As for the NHL, they lost me after the 2004 lockout. |

LazManPremium join:2003-03-26 canada | reply to peterboro Been watching the testing on and off all week...
Planning this year's race - my heart says Las Vegas - combine two of my favourite things... But there's so many to choose from. Been to Michigan, Charlotte, and Martinsville so far.
As for NHL - I'm a casual fan at best, I have friends that own a sports bar, so I'm glad hockey's back for their sake, beyond that, didn't really bother me one way or the other... |

To be honest I really didn't miss hockey as it gave me some time to catch up on my 3D modeling/rendering, photography and reading... Still got a ton of raw photos from last year's car shows I need to process...
Hockey's back (or more likely NHL) and I'll be watching a few games a week... Go Blues GO!!!!! |

| reply to peterboro I'll go against the wave here.....I missed hockey. Went to some BC Junior games and enjoyed them but the speed and skill of the NHL just wasn't there.
Greed....if I was talented enough to play in the NHL and knew my career would last about 10-15 years I would want to make as much as I could.

FaxCap Can't do that in Ontario, social responsibility and all.. Someone better tell the Sens that then... Molsons is giving out a "coupon" for a free beer for everyone over 19years of age that attends the home opener...
They probably get around any rules by giving out the coupon and not the actual beer first -- "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning." ~ Adlai E. Stevenson |

| I could be wrong... I swear they couldn't give booze away in Ontario.
But check this perverseness out.
quote: Vendors are required to pay RST at 12 per cent on any alcoholic beverages taken from inventory for own use or provided free of charge. RST is payable on either the actual cost or on 50 per cent of the regular selling price, and is to be reported on line 3 of the RST return covering the period of use. The option chosen must be used consistently
Yeah ok... I can't count the number of times I've gotten "free" booze at a friends bar, I pretty sure he didn't pay "tax" on that free booze. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... |

Yeah ok... I can't count the number of times I've gotten "free" booze at a friends bar, I pretty sure he didn't pay "tax" on that free booze. They claim it as spoilage or spillage or breakage. No tax on those. -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common. I cannot deny anything I did not say. A kitten dies every time someone uses "then" and "than" incorrectly. I mock people who give their children odd spelling of names. |
