Foldy3 Blade5 update / Motherboard replaced

The most recent CentOS kernel update was not compatible with the Intel DG31GL motherboard. After rebooting into the new kernel, kept receiving Kernel Panic's - the board would not boot.

Replaced it with a new Asrock G31M-GS (r2.0). The new board was running awfully slowly. On examination, the CPU socket was damaged. Replaced the Asrock with a 2nd identical board, and it is now working perfectly.

I wonder if that issue is the reason for another kernel update already? The new one is 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5, I see it listed in the webmin page.
Edit: ran yum and it's yumming along ok.

The updated kernel 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5 has the same issue.

So much for that theory then.
