| Project: New office build out. So we have decided to move my office from upstairs to downstairs so each kid can have their own room (Teen years coming up) so we have to build the new office downstairs from the ground up.
Steps.
Build office.
Move network closet down stairs.
Move office.

The systems will not be on the new wall so no outlets need it there. There is plenty of electrical outlets on the existing walls so we are good there. Is going to be too much work to run Cat6 to the wall where the systems are going to be so the idea is to run 100 cat6 cables behind the base board to the systems area.
Is hard to picture it right now but let me see if I can come up with a diagram so I can explain it better.
(Yes 100 is a joke... Is going to be 4 runs only  )

Crown molding and base board was installed today.
Painting will be done during the week.
Door install/Re wiring starts next week end.

Thanks.... Yes a lot of people has ask me about that and the answer is yes is in top of the carpet for a few reasons....
I wanted minimal damage done to the existing structure in case I ever decided to sell the house and the buyer didn't want the room there or even if one day I just decided to knock it down.
I cut a small square of each carpet area where the anchors are to minimize carpet damage.... I didn't want to cut the whole area out and than having to replace the whole carpet if one day the wall comes down. I like to think of it as some what modular... Others call it ghetto... lol

Err, not to be a PITA but "you never can have too many outlets", and the NEC has rules.
Anyways Wire Mould(TM) makes solutions which would allow you to have power on that wall, be code compliant and be completely removable when/if the wall ever comes out.
Anyways its coming along very fast, you might get it done in a week! |

Right now I am debating what am I going to do with the existing network.
I do plan to keep it but I just haven't found a good way to extended down stairs....
