Welcome to DSLR! The latest FCC report shows OOL delivering over 100% of advertised speeds. Here is what I am getting now, with 3 other users on my network. |

There's my current speed test even though right now i'm having a some "issues" - can't figure out if it's OOL or my PC being funky. The one thing with OOL is that their prices hasn't changed in 10yrs (excepting 19 days ago when it raised $5). Still a good deal though IMO compared to FiOS. That's not to say I wouldn't get FiOS if it were available to me, I wish! |

ool 15/2 is currently 44.95 per month when bundled with either video or voice add 5 bucks starting next month so 49.95 dollars
without any other optimum service it is currently is 49.95 starting next month 54.95 |

There are very few bad reviews. There's no contract, so you can try it and cancel any time if you don't like it. Cancel within 30 days and you get your money back. |

It says 15mb, but with a DOCSIS 3 modem its really 21mb down, at least for me when I had my OOL with no Boost. With Boost I'm doing pretty good.

Could someone run down the current tiers available from OOL? |
|
|
As I understand it, currently they have 3 tiers: Standard - 15/2 Boost Plus - 50/8 Ultra - 101/15 |

I just got my bill - $86.59. There is tax on the TV.
I just called them when my last promotion was up and said my bill was too high.
Notice it is Optimum Value and regular OOL. We only get 500 channels we never watch, instead of 1000. And our internet speeds are 18/2 on the 15/2 plan.
We have no cable boxes - just one cable card that we use for our 3 TVs and recording.
Not much competition where I live - no Verizon. But at&t is pushing uverse - sold my dad, who is switching from OOL. |

Yes officially 15. Reality, I got 21 and this was since a few years ago when I got the D3 modem until December 2012. We can all argue about what number it is officially or what numbers you each get individually, but from my personal experience, I got 21 down w/o Boost "Plus". |

in most areas they cut basic back from 21 to 18 my guess is to try and sell boost plus while still providing above advertised speeds |
|
|
It'd be better if the regular tier was bumped up to Boost Classic speeds of 30/5. |

Right now, Standard Tier can be supported by D2 modems (although I think that all new customers are supplied with D3 modems and anyone with a SB4100 can get a free swap to a SB5200 or a D3 modem since the SB4100 does not fully support the full Standard Tier speeds [it can not do over 10Mbs]). |

I don't think they'll do a swap, but they will loan you a new modem at no cost for as long as you keep service. You would get to keep the modem you bought and get whatever they loan you as a 2nd modem in the house - basically, you can keep your paperweight D1 modem. |

When I said "swap" I was assuming that the SB4100 was a CV supplied modem that was never replaced when they bumped Standard Tier to 15/2 (you had to ask when that occurred since the modem replacement was not automatic). |

Speeds are a crapshoot. When they're good, they're very good. When they're bad, they're horrid. |
