Subaru1-3-2-4Premium join:2001-05-31 Greenwich, CT | Laptop help Compaq presario F700 Charger works and all but what happens is as soon as you press the power button it turns right off again in about 2 seconds without anything showing up or anything.
Any clues to what could be wrong?

You could try reheating the video chip with a heat gun or hair dryer. There should be some youtube videos on how to do this. |

Max_War join:2002-11-30 Scarborough, ON | reply to Subaru No a hair dryer won't work. I checked some links and it won't get as hot as a heat gun. Another method you can try is the oven method. Remove everything from the motherboard like RAM, CMOS battery, etc and place in an oven for 8-10mins at around 200C. If you google 'hp dv6000 oven', it will have some links. |
