The guy is about to turn 36 years old! He is but a shadow of the receiver you describe, like he was at 26. He's got 12 years in the league complete with the wear and tear combined with the age that goes with it. He had lots of gifts for a receiver one of which was blazing speed--one of the fastest receivers ever and great leaping ability. Now he has mediocre speed and jumping ability. Even if he beats the coverage in man the defender is usually fast enough to close the distance before the pass arrives.

Jerry Rice was still kicking butt and taking numbers in his 12th year in the league. Sadly even at his best Moss was never better then a 75% WR. He had a ton of talent and the potential to be the best but wasted it. It wouldn't have mattered if he had Montana or Young. He didn't play every down and didn't give 100% his entire career. There was no way he'd ever be #1 given his work ethics.

I will say of Moss, even though I never personally liked him, at his peak he had as much or more talent than any receiver that played the game. The most physically unstoppable or uncoverable receiver of all time for sure in the modern game.

Rice absolutely deserves all of his accolades and designations such as best receiver of all time and in some eyes the best FB of all time. However, if Randy Moss had Joe Montana and Steve Young throwing to Moss during all most his entire career on those 49er teams his stats would have been dramatically better.

I can't wait to see it on film. I was just really determined to make the play, and he got his hands on me. I feel like he got his hands on me, and I guess the refs said he made a good play."

In screenshot 1 you can see the defender has already been pushed to the ground by Crabtree.....and the ball is nowhere in sight.....Crabtree has clear sailing to the ball......and then other screenshots and the final one showing where the ball landed. Look how far out of bounds the ball finally lands.

Again, just doing this cause I like that I can take screenshots :)

The defender seems to grab Crabtree under the right arm at the beginning while Crabtree is pushing off.

Kaepernick really had to get the ball out quick with the Ravens pass rush about to murder him, so it might have been overthrown.

Plus after the defender is on the ground he throws his hands up as if he's looking for an offensive penalty.

The way the game was being officiated up to that point in the game, I can understand the lack of a flag. Not a big deal to me.

When it happened live it appeared to me Crabtree extends his arm full length and uses it to push so hard down on the defenders head ( helmet ) he pushes him to the ground

I just am not seeing what so many others are saying was a obvious holding call by the defender preventing Crabtree from getting to the ball......he looked to me like he was moving just fine while pushing hard on to the defenders helmet and chest....not to mention the ball way over everyone's head..

If the camera didn't catch Harbaugh showing his very animated holding gesture hoping to to get a call knowing they just lost...... this so called non call would not be so widely discussed today in my opinion only.

But with that said, you make a point about the refs and why start calling stuff now.

Couple of points:

•No stiff-arm from Crabtree that I can see.
•Smith latches on before 5 yards out from line of scrimmage (5 yard line) and hangs on well into the endzone, where it looks like Crabtree tries to scrape him off.
•Rule is ref calls a hold if defender holds after 5 yards.
•Instead of change of possession, it's 4 more downs starting at the 1.
•Simms made a few dumb remarks.
•It's a hold, call it. There isn't a different set of rules for the end of the game.

I've always thought that throwing the ball to the corner of the end zone and hoping your guy outjumps the other guy is a sign of an offensive play caller that's run out of ideas.

Problem is - that close to the end zone that is about all there is to do unless you have a back that can carry people into the end zone.

Would have been better for the 49'ers to be on the 15 yard line.

I'm actually surprised that the PGA has a banned substance list. Being all hopped up on roids wouldn't help a golf swing much.

Pga drug list is more interested in drugs that can calm the nerves - things that can cure the yips on the putting green.
