This poll was edited and changed into a first draft and a request for suggestions for a new and more accurate poll. --WCB!
I thought it was time for a new poll. I have taken all the suggestions from »What AV are you running? If I left anything out, please let us know. :p -- When somebody tells you nothing is impossible, ask him to dribble a football. |

You might consider adding Bit Defender as it is ranked quite high currently by professional testers. Trend Micro and GData were left out also.
But then it may not matter because this forum generally votes for Avast and Norton. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson |

Re: Suggestions for the 2013 Anti Virus Poll Since this poll is going to be here for the whole year as a reference, it might as well be more accurate. It was missing a few and had Clam AV listed twice. I edited the Poll to make it a request for suggestions in order to have a final and more accurate Poll afterward.
Please let us know what in your opinion should be added to the above list.

 | reply to Lagz Not so much you left something out but todays folks either use complete solutions (suites) or stand alone tools in layers.
I personally think the poll would be more useful if it included "named complimentary AV products (Malwarebytes,SuperAntispyware/HitManPro,Emsisoft AM etc).
Also a secondary poll on the same page with 2 options Security Suites(all in ones) or layered approach(Multi-components).
Just a 2cents but the current poll is just a mainstream brand pie chart and maybe not too much value of data to be had from it. |

Anti-malware and anti-spyware polls are done separately. -- We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public. Do not argue with an idiot. The lines as to what cover what area have become very blurred( or obselete) in the past few years..AV's that detect trojans, spyware, AM that detect virus or spyware.
Those boundaries exist no more for the most...Might as well merge all 3 into "anti malcode" poll but as it happens its only seems to be AV poll that is created recently here. |

| reply to Lagz I think you need to make this as "across the board" as possible.
Vipre AVG Bitdefender Bullguard eScan CAT-Quickheal Fortinet Gdata Trend Ahnlab PCTools 360 Safeguard Blink Endpoint Commtouch Ikarus FileMedic Filseclab Hauri K7 Computing Kingsoft Quickheal MSecure MalwareSecure Total Defense Consumer TrustPort VIRUSfighter Pro Zeobit
Some of these I've listed not on the initial list must be worth including. It would have to be a fair request. The poll must be neutral to as many known as possible.
A/V is so clouded now for malware, trojans, worms, etc, trying to split malware tools from A/V programs is only guided by "allowing to be active alongside an A/V"; whereas 2 A/V's are not suggested to run together.

| reply to norwegian said by norwegian:I think you need to make this as "across the board" as possible. Agreed. Will the poll allow multiple choices or minimally 2 selections? |
|
 | Also, the poll has to be more detailed. Such for an example>
Ease of use and Detection rates
Also, most AVs has bundled in firewall and other security features in them and not just being an AV.
I dont know. But I think it must be taken into account. |

 | reply to Lagz Definitely need more than what is listed here. What about things like Kingsoft and Roboscan? -- This space for rent. |
