[DSL] Best Modem for Highspeed DSL 25

Hi Guys,

Out of the recommended modems, which one is the best ?
Or is there something better ?

ALU 7130 VDSL2 Modem
Actiontec V1000H Gateway
ZyXel VSG 1432 VDSL2 Gateway

Thanks

Personally I've used the Zyxel, although this wasn't on VDSL, so I can't comment on that aspect, but the GUI & ease of use was there.

ADSL performance was quite good, WIFI range & speed was good as well.

The ALU 7130 which seems to be similar to the cellpipes that customers are using in ON/QC is as simple... I'd say it's only an OK kind of modem.

Can't comment on the actiontec modems.

as description states... IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11n/g/b, ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+

Doesn't look like it is a compatible VDSL modem.

Errm, it's a moot point, because the rental of the Sagemcom VDSL2 modem is mandatory. There's little point in buying your own modem while paying to rent one at the same time.

Keep in mind his signature name & IP provider telus.net

There is no forced rental with AB/BC VDSL.

I have been using the ZyXel VSG 1432 VDSL2 on Teksavvy 25/2 (via Telus, Alberta) for over a month now. It is rock solid with zero issues in bridge mode. I am getting consistent 24.5/2.7 (or so) speeds. It is running in VDSL2 mode Profile8b.

I a lot of bell customers have or had forced rental on the 2wire which for many peoples needs was a lemon...

there's always a good reason :P

Would any VDSL2 modem with 8b profile be expected to work? I'm shopping a modem right now for 25/2 in AB.
