[Mobile] Multi state wi fi

I start a multi state trucking job soon, and would like to have wide spread wireless internet access for my laptop. I'm currently a Comcast HSI customer at home, so there is one potential channel. Fee based per usage / per hour wi fi at many truck stops seems to be very pricey. Keeping traveling expenses to a minimum is a must for me. It sure would be nice to stream movies and download book and audiobooks and music streams for the 10 hours per day required rest period. I have a Netflix account, and as you know, youtube is loaded with full length movies.

I've been considering a "Straight Talk" unlimited cell phone 3G & 4G data plan, and perhaps I could use a cell phone as a wi fi modem?

Does this sound do-able?

Any recommendations on which phones allow modem use without extensive cuss word incantations?

Thanks

strait talk is not truly unlimited on data. Its roughly 2.5 gigs of full speed data and then they throttle it to 256 kbs. I would not use this for mobile internet. one film on netfilx would use up your data allotment on strait talk. I would consider »www.millenicom.com they offer sprint or verizon based mobile data on a no contract basis. No mobile data is truly unlimited.
