To the person who says we should cancel UVerse.

The only thing I have here in this part of Dallas is AT&T and Time Warner Cable.

I don't even have Verizon FiOS or Verizon Internet.

I wish I could get FiOS here but if I move a couple of miles up the street into Plano, then I can get FiOS.

I used to be with TWC and their Road Runner service is worse than AT&T!!

Plus they shut off my internet several times after I did a big Windows Update or uploaded home videos I took on my vacation to YouTube or to a online host service so my friends and family can have access to them;

they said I violated their security rules by downloading illegal files and uploading viruses.

Ya know, if you had problems with cable you could try calling and asking that they run new lines from your house to the pole if you became a subscriber again. That actually helps a lot more then you think...

Was able to get the XBox Live back connected. Over at the AT&T Community Forums someone posted about 30 minutes ago they did the power re-boot even though over at the Xbox Live Status site still had the warning up and not yet fixed. They said it came back as MTU 1500 and signed in just fine. I tried it about 15 minutes ago and yes...was able to sign into LIVE as well.

On the modem/gateway before the ethernet light would blink a few times...stay solid for about 2 seconds and blink again for about 3-4 seconds. Now it's a steady blinking.

Yup!

That's Time Warner Cable for you.

When I opened my browser, it redirected me to a big TWC page with all their security agreements and fine prints - saying how I violated their rules and the user's agreement.

The only way for me to get back on the net is to call a number for 'counseling' with their security department and then,

go to a TWC webpage and download THEIR programs which I had to install to scan my entire computer and then it will send the results of the scan to TWC.

If they find the results of the scan to their satisfaction, then I would be allowed back on the net

F them! I dropped them that same day!

A few months later they started calling me, begging me to go back to TWC at double the speed I had at 1/2 the price I was paying.

TWC Road Runner advertises fast download and upload speed so you can get your movies and music faster but if you were to use it, they will mark you a trouble maker.

I wasn't using any torrent programs nor was I uploading spyware.

I did a Windows SP update which was a 800MB download and I uploaded several vacation videos to an online file host (which I was paid for, not one of those free ones like Megaupload) for my friends and family to access them.

I have friends with TWC that run torrents and p2p 24/7 yet they never gotten flagged.

Finally, not every file on p2p and torrents is illegal;

many college students and companies use p2p to share important files.

You can only attach so much on an email; sometime you have to send files bigger than your email will allow.

Another outage when we got home today - all services affected. Rebooted RG and all seems to be working. I don't think they have all of their issues fixed yet.

Ours in SC (north of Columbia) is out since Mondaynight. I hired tine Warner now to install new internet and i get out of att. No clue how long it will take them to fix it. It's been almost a week

FYI, my service in NOLA the last few days has been very inconsistent. We have lost internet 3-4 times the last 2 days and our speeds go EXTREMELY UP and VERY LOW during the day.

I have 12m speeds and one minute I am downloading at over 20 and then suddenly it is down to 2.

Sorry for the hurt feelings but I have installed this service from the Midwest thru south tex and yes a majority of lines could support a 30-50mb connection for Internet only as the line capacity is not be same. You are a moderator and probably work for AT&T great. What I stated was my opinion too many people get their feelings hurt when others interject an opinion. I don't know how many installs you have done but most of mine would sync at a max of 55-70 on non Inid and on some pair bond it would hit at almost 100. I am a numbers guy, they never mislead.

Attainable or theoretical sync rate of an individual line, measured by the RG or a test set, has nothing to do with the sync profiles available and assigned.

JDSU, LSBBT. Internet only can run at a high line cap all day. Uverse video can run in the low 90s i've seen it over and over. South of the main Bryan street CO in Dallas there is a VRAD pushing 102 cap and video and data 24/3 ran fine. I put in a ticket when I saw these numbers at the terminal, even though all services were up. The IR tech said that's the way it is in that particular area.

Just because a line can run that high, doesn't mean they will provision it that high if it isn't a standard offering.

That's my point exactly, a majority of lines will sync at a much higher rate than provisioned. I know this is way off topic, sorry for that, I'll stop on this thread now.
