Always get the fastest hard drive you can afford. Today's computers are I/O speed constrained. That was the reasoning behind the original SSD recommendation. If you don't want the SSD today, at least give yourself the option in the future, like Bellboy says, and get the 7200 RPM HDD today.
5 years is a long time to own a laptop.
