Re: Sick DayIpad games are trivial but a lot are fun.
Reading is always the best option for me, currently reading: Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris (it's not what you may think). If you are familiar with Christopher Hitchens you probably know Sam Harris.
Other than that practice whatever your talented at (art, music, etc.) |

I've got 24 months in Okinawa...when said 24 months is over, I will have spent 4 and a half of the past 8 years there. I've got roughly 30 hours on a plane/in an airport to get there (over 50 if you count the added day of crossing the international date line). And I can't do jack about the plane tickets...gotta fly commercial from New Bern to Seattle via Charlotte then Philadelphia. Then wait for about 8 hours in Seattle to board my AMC flight to Kadena AFB in Okinawa. The lay overs are minimal until Seattle, I'll probably get drunk as shit there before my trans-pacific flight. |

Yup, will be the FIFTH time I've made this flight. It's not too bad if you get decent seats. I prefer the aisle so I can stretch my legs.
This will also be the first time I've gone straight from the US to Okinawa. The previous four trips had an hour bus ride in Tokyo between Narita and Heneda airports. Then a 4ish hour flight from Tokyo to Naha on ANA (All Nippon Airlines) with what seemed like no air conditioning and a bunch of Okinawans who smell funny.
I think this one might be the best trip yet, even with the layovers. Especially considering it was 53 hours from take off to my wife's car last time. |

I'd try harder to get a better travel agent.
Though I wasn't happy with my flight to Aberdeen or to Bergen
Houston to Amsterdam to Aberdeen, UK Houston to Amsterdam to Bergen, Norway
each was about 12~13 hours.
Japan sounds like a nice place, no bad I don't speak the language. |

Military arranges the flights. Best I can do is try to get a seating upgrade once I get to my gate.
When I travel home for leave I will be making my own arrangements and the trip shouldn't be as troubling. |

said by Skittles:Japan is nice, my wife is Okinawan. Yeah, Okinawans are super nice and hard working. 90% of them would give a stranger the shirt off their backs. They also live forever...their life expectancy is like 5+ years longer than the rest of the world's. |
