I doubt it will go down in price for a long time. Its very much worth the price, IMO. I havent even touched the single player campaign yet, but I am definently enjoying the new units.

Maybe I need to replay/reread things, as I missed that explanation of the differences of then and now. I just figured it was the same old Queen of Blades, new tricks, and the audience is supposed to support her as the more "preferred" monster over Mengsk because...sex appeal? Hell if I knew.

Granted, in a choice between SC1's Queen of Blades and Mengsk, there wasn't a lot of reasons to root for one over the other. Both were just murder machines.

In the cutscenes. There's plenty of her calling Mengsk a monster (or some other unflattery), where...yeah, she's kinda done the same damn thing. Or worse.

She is/was driven by Zerg instinct, whereas Mengsk's is inherent to his character. So, whom's the true monster?

Actually, she just has a huge beef with Arcturus Mengsk (who leads the Dominion, thus making her beef flow over to them) for leaving her behind. Her issue(s) with Jim Raynor is(are) more complicated.

It's easier than Brutal in WoL for sure. A couple of fights are difficult (mostly the boss fights on Zerus) but if you can micro Kerrigan well it's not an issue, just frustrating.

Protip: I'm halfway through the campaign on brutal (yes, again) and I discovered a nifty trick. While you can change the mutations in the evolution pit whenever you like for each unit, mutation missions are permanent. In my 1st playthrough I opted for the raptor lings, but this time I went with swarmlings. Swarmlings spawn almost instantly and in groups of 3 instead of 2.

Then I opted for the baneling evolution that makes the bane spit out two more baby banes upon explosion, and chose the mutation that improves their explosion radius in the pit.

The result?

Near-instantaneous creation of a bane army. It's absolutely hilarious, I am waltzing through the campaign at this point.

Step-by-step:
1) Hotkey all hatcheries to your hotkey of preference (mine is 2)
2) Press 2, rally all hatcheries to a spot
2) Press 2, S (to select larvae), ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (basically keep your finger on Z until the Overmind voice warns you you're missing something).
3) Swarmlings spawn instantly
4) Select all lings, press eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
5) Attack-move

Rinse. Repeat. Since swarmlings spawn almost instantly and in groups of 3, it takes like 30 seconds to replenish an army of banes.

If you take the Kerrigan mutation that replaces lost lings for free (10 free lings every 30sec until all lings are revived) you basically get your ling supply for free and just pay for the bane update.

It's almost tragic really, but so satisfactory to see banes exploding everywhere.

Pure fun :D

This right here. My actions per minute has to be around 50 or so, if not less. Back during the original SC, when I played almost everyday, I was into the multiplayer scene. Nowadays, I just want to enjoy the storyline. :D

If you played SC and Broodwar and are familiar with the story this is a must buy for the SP alone.

Playing WoL and HotS back to back without the 3y wait will even be better.

Did you ever play the original SC?

If you're able to get over old graphics, I really suggest you play them.

Otherwise, yes, it's worth it for the SP alone in my opinion, but catch up on the story in SC or you won't understand a thing.

This is how i did it, PFs tank while your real tanks lay fire on the ground units I think I had a couple of vikings around for air support with turrets in base.

I also had unlocked psi towers to mind control some of the incoming minions, which added to my army.
