Re: [DSL] Hard to explain connection issues

I would also add, be sure you are doing the speed test using a wired connection to your modem.

Then the issue starts do a speed test on a wired device not wireless and see what happens.

If the speed test is far better on the wired connection than the wireless connection than you have someone stealing and then hogging your wireless network.

If it is the same both wired and wireless but your modem stats are fine, then the issue is upstream from your modem.

We definitely need your modem connection stats especially the number of errors, type of errors, and your uptime to get that number of errors.

Wireless

I have to move my laptop to hookup for a wired connection, so I will try that later and post the results of a speedtest, but I have done it before and typically get about the same results wired or not. It does vary because there are times that I get near the speeds I'm paying for, but more often than not it's hovering around 1mbs/s down. Like I said, that's not ideal by any means, but I could live with those speeds if it was only an issue where things didn't load quite as fast.

Goes without saying... "Man that sucks!"

This is a pretty common theme and I'm surprised that frontier hasn't gotten their act together to provide those locations with more bandwidth considering they are supposed to be a communication company...
