SueSPremium join:2007-05-16 Macon, MO kudos:2 | The last time I posted a composite, it was not very well done. I guess this is a test to see if I have improved.
It is too cold to go out and shoot, so I am playing. |

rcroningD700 RocksPremium join:2005-05-21 Winnipeg, MB | reply to SueS Well, for one thing, the sun seems to be in almost the correct position in the sky to illuminate the moon in it's depicted phase. So that in itself makes it quite realistic and difficult to tell if it's a composite. |

| reply to SueS Looks really good Sue. I don't know - did you shoot (not literally but with a camera) the birds and add the moon with a brush? -- »www.flickr.com/photos/37153430@N03/

jaykaykay4 Ever YoungPremium,MVM join:2000-04-13 Scottsdale, AZ kudos:22 | reply to SueS I think it's pretty good. The only thing that I questioned this afternoon and again now is the right wing of the left bird. The tip of it seems a little pixalated or something, but there's nothing wrong with your overall compilation at all. Have fun playing and experimenting in the cold. |

When I saw your image, it reminded me of a shot I got at Eagle Lakes park in Naples FL last year - (This is not a composite...)

Coma Thanks StevePremium join:2001-12-30 NirvanaLand | reply to badd said by badd:It looks to me like it is a moon shot with the birds added. This is where I light my camp fire.
The foremost bird has the sun shining from a different angle then that of the moon and there is major pixilation on the birds that is not found on the moon.
After looking again, I would say that the birds are shot from 2 different orientations. I didn't pick that up at first and I may be mistaken but well done none the less.

SueSPremium join:2007-05-16 Macon, MO kudos:2 | reply to SueS This is a composite of three images, using the moon for the background. I was standing in the same spot and shot all the images with-in a minute of each.
badd had it correct, and suggested that I feather the birds before adding to the image. I also sharpened the image after I put it together and after downsizing. I'm guessing I shouldn't have.
Thanks for the replies!
Looks like anytime anyone uses the select tools for any work they need to perfect it, or most folks will know it is not original out of the camera. |

Re: [CritEditN] Composite image (added another image) Another one. What do you think, I think it is a little better? |

Re: [CritEditN] Composite image That's better than the first imho. Also here is what I did with it after the fact. It is a lot easier to do the gaussian blur on the birds before pasting but seeing as how I didn't have both files this is a quick fix.

SueSPremium join:2007-05-16 Macon, MO kudos:2 | I like to shoot flying birds for practice, but I never like them with plain blue skys, I think they lack interest. Adding the moon helps I think. Besides it is good practice to hone our skills.
