of course, one possibility could be they lease the machines with a service contract...that way, they pay a monthly fee for use of the machine, and if there is a problem, a guy comes out right away to fix or replace it...that's how most companies i worked at did it.
And that is the way it is most often done. But not always and not with all equipment.--
