What flavor of Android does it currently run?

Not sure about his flavor but mine is 4.2.1.

Sam when you try to load the App what happens?

with 4.2.1 google market says device not supported.

I'll check and find out why..strict enforcement of DRM is required and my hunch is they aren't doing it right or it would be supported.

the only difference in the ics and jelly bean is project butter to my knowledge

It doesn't show up in the market. I haven't tried sideloading it. And its a several old week system that has not been rooted or "tampered" with in anyway.

Yep rooted won't work as most already know. I'm looking into it.

Mine is fresh out of the box/no root.

actually it still does suprizingly.
