No not how I was interpreting it, Comcast made a mistake and forgot to do something....regarding MAC addresses...so I get a good deal.
And yes, you can run two cable modems on one drop, but the entire length is RG6Q (Quad Shielded) so I do get good signal levels. Nevermind the graphic at the top, I was splitting a modem two times that's why ,my Upstream Power is so high...

If you are saying that you are going to use two modems on the same account / address then be prepared to pay for two subscriptions (double what you are paying for internet now) ! That is if your particular local system even allows this.

I plan on getting the Extreme 50/15 and using the new modem (the Zoom) and keeping my Performance w/ PowerBoost on the UBEE. TV is digital starter w/ HD DVR.

FWIW, I have found it to be very tolerant / forgiving of less than stellar signal stats / connection quality ! More so than any Moto that I have ever owned, and I have had many different models going back as far as the SB3100.

Even if I connect the cablemodem directly to the line from comcast without any splitters/amps, it's still weak, so I have to just make do with what I have, and the 5341J seems to have helped a lot with my weak signals.

andyross posted : The main issue is that the Motorola series seem to have issues with the bonded upstream. In 3-up bonding, they often seem to drop or not even initialize properly, with one of the channels going into a 'T4 Timeout' mode for no obvious reason.

For the sake of clarity here, the 5341J is a straight plain vanilla cable modem, the 6580 is a combination modem / wireless router gateway device.

They are both 8 down and 4 up.
The zoom crapped out on me in about a week so got the SB6141 and couldn't be happier with it. Rock solid and not a burp.
I also noticed the Zoom ran hot where the 6141 is just warm to the touch.

I purchased both the Zoom 5341J vs Motorola SBG6580. They both run 8 bonded downstream channels. I know the Motorola has all the fancy WiFi built in, but I don't need that. To be honest all I need to know is whether the Zoom or the Motorola is more reliable in all aspects (latency, packet loss, signal level, power output, SNR, spped, etc)
If anyone has any advice, please, give your 2 cents.
Currently I run 2 internet connections (30/5Mbps) with a UBEE DDM-3513 and it has only 4 downstream channels, as well as my Arris TG862G which is the same. The graphic above is of mt Arris TG862G.
