I recall from the 80's, it used to take that long. Mainly because they were checking out your credit history and contacting employer about your wage.
Then in the 90's Banks rubber stamped every application, and people went in debt over their heads.
Then the banks took a huge hit in 2008-2009 and since then have been cautious about credit.
IMO, banks should have stayed with the tight fisted ways of the 70's and not handed out cards to dogs, cats, birds, children, and others that had no reason to have a card in the first place.
Is a person a failure for doing nothing? Or is he a failure for trying, and not succeeding at what he is attempting to do? What did you fail at today?.
