USB 3.0 problem

Hey all,

I know just enough about computers to get in trouble, so need some advice. My USB 3.0 slot is not working with my USB devices, specifically my headset, even though it is supposed to be backwards compatible. I did some looking online and saw suggestions to this problem to uninstall / reinstall the USB 3.0 driver. Before I try that, I thought I'd see if anyone here had any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver is about as simple as it gets.

Has it ever worked?

The only thing I've tried with it is my headset. I'll try a thumb drive or a game controller when I get home. All the 2.0s work fine.

Entirely possible the driver not got installed in the first place.

The device manager is recognizing it, so I'm thinking it was installed. I tried to do a driver update, but it said I have the most current driver. That's why I questioned whether a reinstall would do any good. Doesn't seem like removing the driver and re-installing the exact same driver should change anything.
