| Need help idetifying a circuit My house has a blank wall plate that is puzzling me. It's located in my double car garage. When I opened it, I saw three thick wires. I thought it's used for adding wall socket, but there's no voltage when I measured it.
Can anybody here help me identify this?

canada | If I had to guess, someone had a welder or other large load in the garage... Check for breakers or fuses that are turned off/pulled at your panel, or wires that have been disconnected or pulled back...
Really, no other way then to trace it back, to be sure where it goes... |

Nice, if you can trace this back to disconnected wires at your panel, you got yourself potential for what looks like 30A 240V circuit. Well.. if you have a use for that. |

I bet it's a 240v circuit which was never hooked up. Put in for the future welder or table saw. If so, it should be easy enough to make it usable. |

I agree, it looks like it was put in for a dryer or welder at some point. It's definitely 240V, either 30 or 40A. |
