[WIN8] Downgrade?

Purchased an open-box copy of W8-Pro @ Microcenter for about $37 (impulse-buy). I upgraded W7-HP (but backed up the whole drive, 1st). But now, I'm regretting it & want to go back. What is the downgrade situation regarding an OEM "system-builder" copy of W7? Can I just restore my backup & unload the W8 copy on eBay (or such)?

Depending on the backup program used - you may just have to restore the whole drive to get Windows 7 back on the computer.

As for the Windows 8... I'm not going to speculate too much- if it was not activated you might be able to eBay it.. or even sell it in »/forum/forsale .

as long as you buy a full windows 8 licence and not upgrade, as upgrading you forfeit the right to use the old windows.

you might be screwed
