Given that you appear to be down in McDonough, a security system might be worth leaving on to help thwart copper thieves. If your home does not have copper piping, I wonder if posting a small sign on the doors saying "no copper pipes" might convince copper thieves to move along since the only thing there would be the wiring. Nah. That would imply ability to read and make informed decisions.
