U-Verse gateway speed changed

My account is provisioned for Max Turbo Internet access. This was verified at install via speed tests and by viewing the gateway configuration.

About 3 weeks ago, my speeds dropped down to 12 MBPS. The DSL configuration is now showing this:

DSL Line RJ-11
Down Up
User Rate 32342 kbs 5040 kbs
Max User Rate 45056 kbs Not Available
Noise Margin 12.4 dB Not Available
Attenuation 14.8 dB Not Available
Output Power 14.2 dBm -11.3 dBm

Protocol G.993.2
Channel Interleaved
DSLAM Vendor Information Country {65461} Vendor {CXSY} Specific {12291 }
Rate Cap 32344 kbs

My question, does U-verse update the speed profile automatically? Does anyone know the best contact number for U-Verse to have the account checked?

I spent an hour on the phone with India and they sent me a new gateway.

Nothing in that data is abnormal. Actually looks fairly similar to my own.

Whatever is causing this, it is most likely not your line, nor your gateway.

It does sound as if your service profile was spontaneously switched. I did have this happen once myself, about 18 months ago. ATT said it shouldn't be possible, but it is, since it did indeed happen.

I would say the best confirmation of whether it is your service profile is what speed you currently getting on a speed test under optimal conditions. If it is ~11.57 Mbps Down/~1.47 Mbps Up, that would match perfectly with a 12 Mbps profile, minus overhead.

I should have mentioned that I am paying for 24MBPS download...

Thanks.

I felt that was obvious when you said "Max Turbo"

Also, you didn't mention if you have any other services with Uverse. If you also have the TV service, and are running more than one HD stream at any given time, your Internet speed will drop accordingly.

I test without any other services online. Thanks for your help.
