For numerous reasons speed test results can be bogus. What you really want to do is measure throughput speeds from more targeted sites, e.g. ones that you are typically downloading (or uploading to) from. You match the appearance of your results to the examples given to see possible throughput problem causes.
Unfortunately I don't think this method works for UDP packets (streaming sites).--
