FTTN 25/10 and 50/10 with Fibe TV + Unlimited Bandwidth

I was told that Bell will be launching starting monday 25/10 and 50/10 (both 49.95 for 6 months) on FTTN with Fibe TV in select areas.

Bell will also now offer Unlimited Bandwidth on their internet (extra 30$/mo)

Seems pretty good to me!

You can get unlimited from Teksavvy for less, and not risk having to do business with the most unscrupulous company in the country.

Just sayin'.

how many times do you think you need to call in to 310-bell to correct the mistakes on your bill for that "promotion"

good luck with that......

As a current Fibe 25/10 customer with a pending install with Start.ca, I called to find out about this.

They will only sell you the 50meg inet if you sign up for FibeTV.

No thanks.

Haters gonna hate. 50/10 will be available if your line has the room for it and from what I heard you dont need to sign up for TV. We shall see as more details arrive.

So where they going to move their 50/50 package? I'm guessing they're going to charge more for it? and place the 50/10 where the 50/50 package is without needing the TV requisite....

50/10 would be sweet, Mop the floor with the cable carrier with that line mix.

I would signup for it right away and switch to 15/10 after the promotional price ends

No way is 50/10 going to be possible for FibeTV... unless you're on a 7330 remote.

So your saying when I called this morning to inquire, and was told "your qualified for 50meg, but we can only offer it in a FibeTV bundle", thats incorrect? Because thats what I was told.

As I stated, the 50 plan interests me as I currently have 25/10 and my attainable on my line is 170 down and 70 up. But not if I have to add TV service to get it.

Call again, see what they tell you.

I'm very postive only those SLAM would be able to support 50/10 with FibeTV (without losing speed when someone is using internet), OSLAM stinger can forget about FibeTV 50/10, for people who want internet only can get 50/10 though... But I'm sure they will still offer it, even though it's going to be like the 15/10 FibeTV.

I will call Monday, maybe the packages will be updated on the site by then.

My best friend is a Bell tech who did the copper grooming in this area, and did my Fibe 25 hookup, so im 100% positive im on a 7330 slam. He was under the impression 50/10 was already rolling out.

The only 50/10 rolling are people who are in test phase.

And I've never seen a attainable rate of 170/70...

Testing from your friends device is not the best, since the modem is obviously the end user limits which give totaly different readings... this is also doesn't show where he tested it.

Tested at the modem jack at the panel where I have my modem mounted.

But these are not stats directly from the modem, that's for sure.

Oh yeah, and probably with FibeTV. Thoses on 7330 are lucky... since it supports 17a VDSL2 Vs Stinger 12a.

Coaxguy,

50/10 will be available on standalone Internet... 50/10 will also be available on fibe tv but on 7330 only. As Kovy pointed out need 17a to deliver the 65mb required for tv 50.

Is this why, according to my modem stats, I now have: VDSL2 Profile 17A? I think this profile is for a max 50mbps. Could this be in preparation for the increases?

Well im hoping Monday will have some updated info in the Bell system. They offer 50/50 for $49.99 ongoing to customers as long as they have 3 services with Bell, so im assuming they will offer 50/10 as well. If thats the case I may cancel my start.ca install.

Well you don't really need 17a for 50mbps... Maybe it benefits more for people that are further away.

Are they still doing this over a single pair or bonding two? A tech told me a few weeks ago they would be using bonding for 50mbps.

Are they going to offer more streams on fibe tv now? I hope so.
