| 2701HG-B Gateway: slowing down after 30 minutes, till rstrt The router when restarted will have:
35-60 ping, 2.5mb download, .4mb upload
after half hour of a wired xbox 360 being played, and a wireless toshiba qosmio the stats drop to this
550 ping, .55mb download speed, less then .1mb upload.
logging into the router from the computer and restarting the router fixes speed.
we live in a place where we cannot get the fastest internet but it is fast enough to play xbox and LoL. |

| Is the 2Wire gateway getting plenty of cool air? Make sure the vent ports are clear. Try using a small quiet fan to keep it cool or relocate it to a much cooler location. It might just be overheating. |

| yes it is in a fine spot.
it seems it is an issue with the provider or with the weather. It was fine the next day and all the way till today where it has acted up again. It was not turned off at anytime in between.
I don't know why restarting the router would temporarily fix it but it does. Perhaps it is these extreme temperature fluctuations we are having in Michigan and it is affecting it somehow. still does not explain the temp restart fix. |
