Re: [Equipment] dslam Wow WS must have gotten around to upgrading the old legacy carrier pigeon uplinks and opted for a modest 10M link (ok, I kid, I kid... They probably installed gigabit). In a nutshell, the DSLAM connects to the BRAS via ethernet or fiber. The BRAS is responsible authentication and letting us use WS's network (whether it be copper or fiber or an army of carrier pigeons).
Network Layout: -Your DSL Modem (connects via copper phone line to DSLAM) -DSLAM (has a port for each for phone line) (connects to BRAS via ethernet or fiber on trunk side) -BRAS (which is fed by copper or fiber is the gateway to WS's network) -Internet -- ASUS P8Z77-V | Intel i7 3770k | 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 | 2x EVGA GTX 670 SLI |128GB Samsung 830-Series SSD | 80GB OCZ Agility 2 SSD | 2x 500GB WD Black HDD | Speedsteam 4300 | Netgear WNDR3700v2 DD-WRT | Full Gigabit LAN | Windstream 3Mbps |
