Re: Ooma halting development, limiting support for hub .. I just received the notification yesterday.
As for support, the Hub has been around long enough that any serious bugs will have been worked out of it by now (I can't even remember the last time that I needed to contact the company regarding any Hub problems). If the Ooma network itself is down, I would expect them to respond and fix it, regardless of whether I am using a Hub or a Telo.
Just to cover myself (in case the company should do a Sunrocket and close up suddenly), I found a Polycom IP 331 phone in a thrift shop the other day for almost nothing and I am looking at my options to set it up for a free (or a very low-cost) plan as a backup VOIP solution. From what I have read, this model is not as full-featured as more expensive Polycom IP phones, but it should be "good enough". |
