Re: ubnt airrouter no wds in v5.5 Is it just me, or does the new "AP-Repeater" "WDS Checkbox" GUI changes that UBNT made to the Wireless settings in their radios, make NO sense what so ever??
It was simple and straight forward with the original (Pre 5.5.x) versions. Now I'm not quite sure what the hell came over them. With these new settings, is it now possible they can be a universal repeater (Repeat a linksys AP for example)?
I just don't get the logic/point of the change. It made sense before, if there's no new functionality, why change all the terminology? |

I got to deal with a particular Alvarion SE several times and every time I would ask why they did things differently, his response was "It's the Alvarion way, we know best ". I stopped asking as I already knew the response. I guess it's now UBNT's turn. |

It is my experience that every vendor does it... When alvarion was breezecom, they did not do it. Now they all do.
Moto did it, and we called them on it. They stopped. Their track record is much superior to Ubi's track record.
But then their SMs were $225 or so a pop... -- Once we IPv6 enable every device on the Internet we will have toasters, baby monitors, and security cameras joining the bot nets which today are populated only by idiots that can not refrain from clicking, "Yes I would like to see those titties..."
