QAM tuners switching channels

We have one TV in our house that's not on a VZ box. For the past year, every once in awhile, it automatically switches channels. It usually happens around the top of an hour. I thought the TV was bad but we rarely use it so I didn't care. This morning, my dad sent me an email. He moved into new home and has one of his TVs not on a box also. He said his channel automatically changed at 10AM. So now I am wondering....is this a known thing that happens when not using a box???

Is the TV literally switching to a different channel or going from it's PSIP channel number to the actual QAM channel number?

For example what channel were you on and when you press info what channel did to change to?

Literally switching. Ours from 6.1 to 29.1 and my dads from 29.1 to 6.1 Top of the hour too. Can't be coincidence right?

Verizon FiOS doesn't refer to channels as 29.1 and 6.1, so I don't see how this is a Verizon problem.

Actually they do through the PSIP headers that when properly implemented allow you to tune to the broadcast channel number as opposed to the QAM channel number.

I am in the same VHO and have my TV on both a box and directly connected and I have never seen the issue you are referring to happen when using the TV QAM tuner.

Really odd. Same issue on two different TVs (different manufacturers years apart) and always at top of hour. Gotta be a signal issue...hmmmmm.
