Hey, thanks for checking that, the monthly is about the same as GBTel, but the speeds seem higher, may be a worth while look (with the Leafs in the playoffs, will need to be able to stream the games if they last that long)

I assume those poles that got installed in the last little while are the ones giving us the wifi, we are close to one as well, down by Pashwood

Those are the ones. They have solar collectors and wind turbines for power. Our closest is up on the beach by 30th St. Call Rob Skye at the Band Office and he will set things up. They do a site survey at no cost before installation.

With the snow gone, I was up on the cottage roof at Sauble to see if I could get a signal on my cell phone. 3 of 5 bars on my iPhone 4S. Looks like I'll be getting one of these to get cell and data signals in the cottage.

I won't move on it until closer to the summer. I used the Telus Network Experience problem reporting app yesterday to flag the problem (yes, Telus has their own cellular signal problem reporting app). I will see what that brings, first.

Where is your cottage? On leased land or north of the main street?

Not sure if these guys extend over to Walter Falls, but we are between Sauble and Southampton and the service has been great. Offer seasonal, and support has been good when we have had issues. Speed is fine for surfing, and using VPN for work. Right on the edge for streaming video, some days good

Yeah, its pretty fail... Even up a tower to get better reception due to all the trees & hills.

I am looking seriously at this option to get signal at my cottage at Sauble Beach. I have to wait for spring, though. Review here.

The Rogers map gives a good indication of what is available in the Walters Falls area. Local dealers will let you buy the stick and give you a few days to try it out. If it doesn't work, bring it back for a refund.

Telus coverage

All of those are a tad optimistic. I know the coverage just north on LFCATC Meaford is just wrong.

Good luck. One of my co-workers lives at Temple Hill. They use Xplornet. Not great. DSL and cable are absolutely NOT available out there, as far as I know (Rogers cable for sure). I have been out there with my Telus 3G phone (LTE absolutely not available) and gotten reasonable connection. The problem out there is the hills. Coverage is dodgy.

Works well for me around Meaford On - depends on the proximity to a Rogers tower.

Rogers does not have LTE coverage up there. Bell/Telus don't either, you have to be closer to blue mountain in order to get LTE in that area.

Lol.. Its not for me.. :)

My mom's considering moving up there. She may get a job offer this weekend (it's been in the works for months on end now - just waiting for client signoff), and she needs faster internet than is currently provided.

End of the line for the lines (hydro & Bell use same pole, they're last house serviced on the line). Bell's site says 6mbps is available, however Bell also refuses to service/upgrade the line, so anything nearing that speed is completely out of the question.
Currently using a Rogers cell device, $45/month, 128kbps down, 2gb/month.
Essentially looking for any alternatives. Tower is already up.

Just looking for options.
