Channels 1, 6 and 11 do not overlap. Try and do a pattern of those channels. For instant, you are putting three up in a customers location. Front one near reception would be channel 1, middle one in shop would be channel 6 and last one in warehouse, channel 11. If you need up to 5, the next one should be channel 1 again, then channel 6 again. Reason being, your two AP's on channel 1 should be far enough away you shouldn't get interference. With a business grade AP, I would say a good 300+ feet between the two that are going to be on the same channel. I haven't used WDS as I only have one, but this is just standard practice for any wireless setup.
