Re: FCC takes power away from NIMBY's for temp cell towers This could be a good thing, but it also comes with potential drawbacks. For instance, I'd be rather perturbed if a service provider decided to drop a temporary cell tower in the neighborhood - even if it was just for a couple weeks to support a large event. These things aren't the most attractive looking pieces of equipment and do take up space. But avoiding things like this is one of the reasons I moved about as far beyond the suburbs as possible. Still, however, I'd like to have the Town have the power to prevent a deployment of temporary sites if enough of its residents objected. |
