[Express] connection problems

Noticed last week that I would have to reboot modem to get connected. Then on Friday it was horrible, I would have to reboot maybe 10 times in an hour. Called tech support they say I should swap out for new modem (CGN2-ROG). Up until about noon today everything good. Now same as before. Tech support says now its probably a bad cable either inside or outside my house. How can that be if after every time I reboot the modem the connection is good again? Sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes for an hour.

This kind of problem is usually a signal quality issue, caused by a damaged cable.

besides calling rogers how could one figure out which cable is damaged. My tv and phone always works even when the internet doesn't.

Unless you have an RG59-RG6 coax line tester best bet is run a Ping test to see if it's actually a line problem.

Modems are very sensitive to line issues/bad connections etc. so unless you know what to hunt for your best bet is to call Rogers for a tech visit.
