[Northeast] Central NY: EMail & My Verizon interm. / down

Verizon.net email has been slow or down for 3-4 days, now mostly down.

My Verizon & Verizon customer support forums are also intermittent and won't allow logins.

Several scattered reports of the same issue on the net (though not in here).

Browsing & streaming speeds more inconsistent than usual, but not the reason for the email issues.

Not a firewall, router, or ONT issue.

Guessing VZ has some router and/or DNS issues.

I had the same problems in CNY; today was the worst. I changed my DNS settings in the Actiontec control panel to opendns (google works too) and that seems to have fixed it for now. Big difference in ping and speed.

honestly, ISP's email services suck. and then you have to change email addresses if you change ISPs. I never recommend to anyone to use their ISP email service. Use anyone of the many hundreds of free (and way better) ones out there.

Yup. Verizon's E-mail server needs a reboot. It's slow yet again.

Better than Cox. At least Verizon's servers at least are UP.
