Microsoft Account Rename disabled

The changing of the eMail Address used by Microsoft Account (formerly Windows ID) has been disabled for at least 6 weeks with no relief in sight.

This means that one also cannot change a .live .msn . Hotmail email to outlook.com

No prognosis is given. The Status page »status.live.com for Microsoft Account, Hotmail or Outlook shows nothing either current or in history.
