Cippic or whatever they are are stalling them. Of course we all know Voltage means business and is dead serious. It's just a matter of time before Voltage pulls out the heavy artillery. |

Next election remember which political party happily lays down and spreads for the AMERICAN copyright lobby. The same party that is dying to convert Canada into a clone of the USA. |

I'd like to know a bit more about that too, I'd guess some cost assessments are being done by Voltage right now, because this isn't going to be the slam dunk payola they were expecting.

EQ Either way, its not fair to make Teksavvy do all that work, and then just run away from the costs. I hope that if Voltage does get denied access to the list, Teksavvy at least gets partial costs. |

Is that the same party that has limited the maximum exposure of residential customer to $5000? Just want to check, because before that, Voltage could have successfully threatened multiple trillions of dollars of infringements per customer, like we has seen happen in the US. |

Teksavvy only keeps logs for three months right? It's been over three months since Voltage ask for those logs, so wouldn't the ip addresses be deleted by now? or is Teksavvy saving those logs? |

Because they started the suit before the 3 months was up, under current copyright laws, they need to keep the logs for people currently being sued for 6 months, 12 if the case isn't still resolved. |

Yes...and even without the new copyright regulations, there are more general laws about legal hold orders...you're not allowed to destroy information that's being requested in a legal dispute until the court rules on it (or a statutory period expires).
The 90 day retention doesn't help anyone named by Voltage...but for those people who chose to set up a VPN or proxy as soon as the law changed in Nov, the 90 days is almost up and they'll soon be in the clear. |

Can they just "go away"? Wouldn't they have to send a letter to the court or TSI saying they're going away?
But they vill be bach. |

Yes, the same party that changed the laws to make it easier for such a troll lawsuit to occur. Yes, the same party that rubber stamped laws written by American lobby groups for use here in Canada. |
