Uverse just became available in my area. When I enter my address, it shows that I qualify for the 18mpbs service.
Do my line stats look good enough to achieve the 18/1 (16mpbs after overhead) speed?
U-verse HSI isn't on an ATM circuit, so there should be less overhead. If your modem will sync at 18,000, I believe you would be good for 17 Mbps (.96x).
I expect those stats would be good enough for the 18 Mbps tier. Here are my current stats for a CLEC ADSL2+ (Sonic.net "Fusion") service:
DSL Line Line 1 (inner pair)
Rate: 18191 kbs 892 kbs
Max Rate: 19564 kbs 952 kbs
Noise Margin: 5.7 dB 7.2 dB
Attenuation: 25.5 dB 15.5 dB
Output Power: 0.0 dBm 12.7 dBm
Protocol: G.DMT2+ Annex A
This service is ATM, so measured download is .85x, or ~15 Mbps.--
