1 edit | [PHONE] wide-spread power outages and digital phone Last week Thursday the whole town of Beamsville had no hydro which I know might kill off some of the cable equipment since they feed power from the main lines out there. So the battery in the modem did it job and gave me phone service BUT the strange thing was that I could call out and no one could call me. Sure I had no trouble calling people in town but the thing was when someone would call me an lady tells them 'my service is unavailable'. So my question is, why can I call out but no one can call me?
EDIT: just realized a typo. Thanks. HAHAHA |

 | reply to robman50 Honestly, I'm not sure without taking a look when the issue was happening. It could have been when the eMTA switched over to battery it didn't register properly.
I'd try pulling the power cable, and then have someone try calling you. Could have been a temporary glitch.
Let me know! |
