andyjai posted : Seems like Verizon fixed it on Tuesday night. All Los Angels Speedtest.net servers give me around 60-80Mbps Down and 30up. Http downloads maxed out my connection and youtube is able to stream fine now.
andyjai posted : I don't have any packet loss problem, just getting slower and slower speed. I understand your pain, our company was using verizon dsl and the top speed is 0.5Mbps on a 7Mbps plan and it also disconnect very frequently. Verizon never fix the problem because they say DSL is old and you will only get what you can get, and we just switched to another 4G ISP.

[Southwest] Problem with Fios

andyjai posted : I have 75/35 plan with Actiontec Rev I modem and I only use wired connection. For weeks I can hardly stream any HD video at youtube during the evening, seems like my streaming speed is around 50-300KB/s. Using speedtest.net I can sometimes get full speed and sometimes not and I hardly every get full speed using verizon speedtest or speakeasy. This problem only occurs during peak time.

So on friday, I thought something might be wrong with my router and I switch it around with my older Westell modem and nothing improved. (I kept releasing DCHP and switching modem, and later just plain releasing DCHP and restart the Actiontec after 30mins). Then on friday night around 2am, everything went back to normal full speed (I can stream youtube 50-80Mbps and I can download file from Microsoft, Nvidia, and ATI around 7xxx-9xxx KBps), so i thought problem is fixed. Then Saturday day afternoon everything is slow agin (Youtube streaming 0-2Mbps and Microsoft, Nvidia, ATI are giving me around 50-300KBps each and Verizon speedtest around 8Mbps down 30Mpbs up.

Tonight is even worse, most speedtest.net servers wont even run the test and some servers report download speed around 10Mbps. Verizon speedtest say "Test Timed out" and won't run. Mircosoft, Nvidia, ATi download speed around 5-60KBps.

Tracing route to google.com [74.125.227.39]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms Wireless_Broadband_Router.home [192.168.1.1]
2 4 ms 5 ms 4 ms L100.LSANCA-VFTTP-113.verizon-gni.net [98.119.77.1]
3 14 ms 15 ms 15 ms G0-5-1-5.LSANCA-LCR-22.verizon-gni.net [130.81.182.226]
4 * 35 ms * so-5-1-0-0.LAX01-BB-RTR2.verizon-gni.net [130.81.151.238]
5 38 ms 43 ms * 0.xe-6-1-0.XL4.LAX15.ALTER.NET [152.63.10.173]
6 18 ms 17 ms 16 ms TenGigE0-5-2-0.GW4.LAX15.ALTER.NET [152.63.115.190]
7 15 ms 14 ms 17 ms google-gw.customer.alter.net [63.125.112.154]
8 13 ms 15 ms * 216.239.46.40
9 14 ms 58 ms 17 ms 64.233.174.186
10 49 ms 47 ms 46 ms 64.233.174.143
11 52 ms 50 ms 47 ms 72.14.237.218
12 52 ms * 50 ms 209.85.250.77
13 48 ms 46 ms 50 ms dfw06s06-in-f7.1e100.net [74.125.227.39]

After I ran a tracert, I noticed something might be strange. Is the second line suppose to show my IP? Like my IP is suppose to be 98.119.77.xx? But that is not even close to what my current IP. My IP is 79.67.89.xx, so is that what causing my slow time? Did my frequent DCHP release mess something up? I had a couple IP with 98.119.77.xx before when I was releasing/renewing them. (I wrote down all the IP address after each release)

I contacted verzion about this and they just send me another router. The router is coming tomorrow, but I doubt it will solve it.

Any help is appreciated. (Need to mention again that this problem seems to only occur during evening time as I get full speed at very late after 1am and full speed before I go to work at 9am)
