Re: [Cable HSI] CMTS channel moving and DOCSIS 1.1 and 2 modems 3 mbps internet is marginal for Netflix. I had DSL 3mbps internet before getting Mediacom. Netflix streaming was not very good. Make sure you are not trying to stream a HD video. HD requires at least 5mbps speed. Check your Video Quality settings on Netflix. Put them as low as possible.
As a Netflix fan, one of the reasons I am now a Mediacom customer is because the DSL 3mbps speed was not cutting it.
I am on 12/1 mbps service with Mediacom and have no more problems with Netflix. Since you already own a Docsis 2.0 modem I would give it a try. Certainly if you are going to spend $$ on a new modem get a Doc 3.0 modem. |
