 | Replace LED in TV? I have a 65" Samsung LED TV I bought 5 months ago. Whenever I watch widescreen movies I see back light bleeding. I called Samsung, they sent someone out. He took pictures and sent it to Samsung.. Samsung agreed it needs to be replaced.
Should I trust them or leave the tv as is. The TV seems fine other then watching WS movies. I am scared they will just screw it up more. |

| reply to helpsamsu I do not see why you wouldn't go ahead and have them replace/repair it.
As they are agreeing with you, that your tv is not performing to spec, it would seem most appropriate to let them make it right.
Besides, this is one of those things that even if you think that you can/will tolerate it, every time it re-occurs, it will slowly drive you to distraction.
INHO, go ahead and do it. -- Deeds, not words |

| reply to helpsamsu If its only 5 months old, I would allow them to do it. It is under warranty, and that's the time to get it all working right before they can charge to get it right. I had a bad circuit board in mine when I first got it. Picture was all messed up and 2 of 3 HDMI ports didn't work. They had a guy come out and replace the board, and all is well.
I would get it done if I were you...then down the road you will feel much better when in widescreen knowing there isn't any quirks with the picture. -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

 | It wouldn't matter who they sent. If Samsung sends the repairman then they authorized him to go out on their behalf. -- I do not, have not, and will not work for AT&T/Comcast/Verizon/Charter or similar sized company. |

| It matters to the company paying for the visit. You can bet that some MBA type determined that they were spending WAY too much money sending high-dollar techs onsite to every warranty request. Some corporations even outsource the initial visit to low-cost third parties, to save money. If you save $10 per visit and have a million visits per year, then you just saved $10,000,000 and got yourself a nice bonus check. |

 | You are missing the point of my post. Juggernaut said "If it's an authorized Samsung repair depot, it'll be fine." If Samsung sent the tech then he is authorized by Samsung. -- I do not, have not, and will not work for AT&T/Comcast/Verizon/Charter or similar sized company. |

I usually find out what company they sent, and then make sure it's the same one. -- "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. | reply to helpsamsu Even if it's a subcontractor which it most certainly is, it's authorized by Samsung.
Have it fixed to your satisfaction. |

| reply to helpsamsu I purchased a display model Vizio 55 inch from Sam's Club at significant discount from the normal price. I got it home and found the HDMI connectors did not work. Signed up for the warranty online the same day. Vizio sent a new in box television to replace it and took the old one away to be analyzed for possible repair and resale as a refurbished device. Samsung might do the same for you. It is easier logistically to replace with new, repair old the old one, and sell the old one as factory reconditioned. |
