There's also CityNet (Headquarters in Bridgeport), which seems to be starting to grow and expand their own fiber more as well. They just received a Federal Grant a few weeks ago for their phase 1 of a FTTH/FTTB project. Phase 1 is focusing on the Central/N. Central part of the state, up aroud Clarksburg, Parkersburg, and Morgantown areas. They've said after those whole areas are complete by 2015, they're looking to hopefully expand to Charleston and surrounding areas.

I agree with the above poster, most people don't realize how difficult WV is. Having said that, I think Suddenlink has done a great job in keeping us competitive with other states (we can get 100+ mb down). It is just difficult to reach everyone in our state though.

In regards to the future, I guess it depends on how well the new DOCSIS standards perform and how important upload speeds will be.

Think about how fast Charleston got LTE with Verizon.

hmm idk for sure, eventually you would have to think that the copper its self would get to expensive.. weve already been seeing it go up.. while fiber is going down.. In major citys with other choices.. I could def see cable providers switching even though they wouldn't like to.. but the spark for that switch has to happen first for any of them to ever do it
