antdude posted : Interesting. I am not sure if this is related to the most of the city outage I had a few days ago... I was surfing the Internet and then got a very short disconnection (a couple seconds) with my cable modem's Ready light going out.
antdude posted : And after ten hours, it is back. TWC support's chat said major of 91745 had an outage. Sheesh. I guess TWC didn't have anyone to fix the problem overnight. I wonder what happened over there. :( It was still strange that my next door house neighbor didn't have any problems! Weird.

»pastie.org/5968011 for my working connection in case anything odd/weird.

Fleeced posted : Could be an issue with your modem or with the line, it's hard to tell without any signal readings. Honestly, if your modem is old and it was starting to reboot over and over, that normally indicates equipment failure.

It might still be a signal issue, but if that modem is more than 5 years old, I'd consider replacing it first.

Outage? My cable line? My old modem?

antdude posted : Hi!

As of 10:52 PM PST last night, my TWC Internet went down as my family and I were surfing and watching videos online. At first, I thought it was a typical outage. It went down for a few minutes. It came back for a few minutes, and then down. I didn't bother to look deeply so I went to sleep (tired).

However, it seems bigger after I woke up after 5:00 AM PST and still no connection. Power cycling a few times failed to get any modem lock. Old Ambit/Ubee cable modem shows no signal lockages in its »192.168.100.1? »pastie.org/private/qnpyl46xca2nsb3qbpu2zg for the latest results. Neighbor's TWC Internet is OK with their Cisco cable modem.

I checked the old coax cable (from 3/10/2001 from Excite@Home days) in my room, but it seems OK and secured/tight?

Any ideas? Thank you in advance. :)
