OP, if you are technologically challenged (yes, it can be daunting), take a low-tech approach:

1. Re-route (or re-wire) your network so your cable (DSL) modem and router are in your bedroom.

2. Unplug router or modem when you go to bed.

3. Lock your bedroom door.
