Also with one of the listed D3 8x4 modem's, you should be good to go modem wise for at least next 3 years, and I could see next 5 years. As the modem bonding 8 downstream channel's has about 320mbps of bandwidth available. This is shared bandwidth, but still is a good amount compared to your current D2 modem, that is stuck with a max of around 38mbps on a single downstream channel.

The Netgear WNDR4000. I found out there's a bug in the DD-WRT firmware for it that limits the WAN port to 100Mbps (even though it says it's connected at gigabit speed). I just upgraded my modem and it still wont do over 100Mbps, (with the router attached, but I max my speeds without it going straight from PC to modem) so I decided to check the DD-WRT forums and found a few people have confirmed the same problem with no solution. I'm thinking about getting another router now unless I can find out which version of DD-WRT will fix this bug. The stock firmware is horrible, so I'd rather not go back to that. :P

If anyone knows a solution it would be much appreciated. :)
